Kalie and Kolin | The Barn at Aspen Acres

Photography: Riley Winter

Kalie and Kolin picked a beautiful day in May to get married. I love the feel of spring and new beginnings that May in the Black Hills brings. Kalie's bouquet was designed to be petite with a variety of white flowers. I also added a hint of eucalyptus greenery to complete the look. You can see stock flower in this bouquet (the white flowers with a little bit of green on top). This is a fragrant flower and lends itself to great designs because of its shape and size. If you love a good floral smell, this is the flower for you.

I love adding a design element like hanging hoops to any venue space. Having designs that hang from the ceiling or come up from the floor give much more visual interest. The Barn has such a beautiful, clean entryway and it's so fun to come up with different designs to set the tone for wedding guests as they arrive.

Kalie set up a smaller arbor as a photo booth and I created a design to give the guests a fun backdrop for their photos. I also created an arbor design to compliment the stunning barn doors with an amazing view and finished off the look with florals on the whisky barrels.

The reception space was completed with a garland for the head table with flowers scattered throughout. The guest tables were arranged with greenery down the middle and bud vases with flowers. I love the contrast between the clean, geometric lines inside The Barn and the soft, organic lines of the flowers in this reception space.

Congratulations Kalie and Kolin! It was such an honor to be a part of your day.
